Mango_Backpack.jpg
Mango Backpack23 viewsSarah (back to camera) made a backpack to hold the mangoes she'd gathered. We asked her to pose for a picture with Keith. She and other kids make these all the time, so she didn't see what we were so excited about, but we thought it was soooo creative to be able to just "make a backpack" anytime at all you wanted to carry something on your back. We wish we knew how to make them!

Language Lesson13 viewsHere the kids are teaching us how to speak in local language. Children were the best teachers to practice with, because if we misspoke they'd laugh, and we'd learn. The adults were slow to correct us, for fear we'd be insulted. The kids also taught us songs, something the adults would never do.
